Available Services

Welcome to our various homes and services. Here you can find more detailed information of our various homes and services available to our veterans and their spouses. If you need a service officer please use our Office of Veterans Advocacy Link.

Eligibility

Applicants may be peacetime or wartime veterans, with wartime veterans retaining priority admission status. Applicants must have been discharged under honorable conditions and be a bona fide resident of the state of Idaho. In addition, applicants must be unemployable as a result of age, illness, or disability. Effective July 1, 2000, applicants must apply for and become eligible for Medicaid benefits or must pay the established maximum monthly nursing care charge.

Cost of Care

Veterans may be admitted without regard to their financial status. Nursing care residents admitted on or after July 1, 2000, must either apply for and become eligible for Medicaid benefits, or must pay the maximum monthly charge as it may be established from time to time.

Social Services

Social services are designed to help residents do as much for themselves as possible. Community and in-house services are available to residents. The goal of these services is to help residents reach their maximum level of independence and thereby maximize their individual sense of self-worth.

Life Enriching Activities

With the assistance and support of various service organizations and individuals, residents enjoy a variety of in-house activities, programs and outings into the community. Picnics, musical programs, chapel services, plays, bingo, storytelling and parties are just a few of the recreational activities available.

We celebrate each birthday, special occasion, and anniversary with our residents.

Facilities include game rooms, computer access, libraries, craft rooms, television rooms, chapels, outdoor patios and gardening areas. Transportation is arranged for off-campus trips and recreational outings.

Idaho State Veterans Cemetery

Veterans Cemetery

The State of Idaho's Veterans Cemetery is located on 76.5 acres adjacent to the Dry Creek Cemetery. The site is just North of Hill Road and East of Horseshoe bends Road. The Terteling Company donated approximately 40 acres in two parcels to the state and the remaining acreage was purchased from Dry Creek Cemetery District.

The Cemetery was made possible by a grant from the Veterans Administration State Cemetery Grants Program and has funded 100% of the design, construction and equipment costs.

Veterans License Plates

You can help support the Idaho Veteran’s Cemetery and show your pride in America’s veterans when you purchase an Idaho Veteran’s license plate. A total of $15 dollars from the purchase of each new Veteran's license plate and $5 dollars from each renewal goes directly to support the operation and maintenance of the Idaho Veteran’s Cemetery.

There’s no better way to say, “I Support Our Troops” than by purchasing a specially-made Veteran’s tag.

For more information about how to get a plate for your own vehicle, please click on the link below, which will transfer you to the Idaho Transportation Department web site.

These beautiful silver medallions are currently available for purchase through the State of Idaho Treasurer’s Office. The sale of these one-ounce medallions will help fund the maintenance and operation of the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.

The silver medallions were created to honor all veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The reverse side features the Official Seal of Idaho. Each coin is numbered and placed in a rich, velvet case.

Please consider helping to support the Idaho Veteran’s Cemetery by purchasing one or more of these beautiful keepsakes.
