Veterans Day Freebies

Merchants are giving back in record numbers this year.  Estimates seem to indicate that more than 100,000 businesses will be giving veterans and active duty troops free meals, vacations, and an assortment of other services...all free of charge.  See list below.  List is updated frequently.

     


      

5. Tucanos Brazilian Grill in St. Charles is offering a FREE meal to current and past servicemen/women presenting a military ID or Veteran ID Card or some form of past service on Monday, Nov. 11. Plus, families and their active servicemen/women will receive 10 percent off their entire meal (with a military ID), November 8 through Nov. 11. More info: 636-724-4499.

      

6. Military week (Nov. 11 through Nov. 17) is scheduled at Eckert’s Country Store and Garden Center and Restaurant, 951 South Greenmount Road in Belleville. To thank military personnel and their families, they are offering a military discount of 20 percent off all purchases from the Country Store, Garden Center and Restaurant. Veteran ID Card or Military ID is necessary to receive discounts. They're also offering 50 percent off all cooking classes for participants who register anytime between Nov. 12 through Nov. 16. Call 618-233-0513 to register for the cooking classes and mention this offer (then present Veteran ID Card or Military ID at time of class).

      

7. Free admission to National Parks from Nov. 9 through Nov. 11 (Veterans Day weekend).

     

8. Applebee's Restaurants: On Monday, November 11, 2013, veterans and active duty military can choose from a free signature Thank You Meal menu that includes some of their favorite items. Must present valid Veteran ID Card or some form of identification or be in uniform for active duty servicemembers.

      

9. Bar Louie Free Lunch or Dinner: From open to close Sunday, Nov. 10 and Monday, Nov. 11, every Bar Louie location across the country will offer veterans and military personnel a free meal up to a $12 value when they show valid military I.D. or Veteran ID Card or other proof of service. St. Louis location: Kirkwood and Central West End.

      

10. Chili’s Free Meal: Veterans and active-duty military will receive a free meal from a special Veterans Day menu on Monday Nov. 11. Must show proof of military service.

       

11. Golden Corral Free Meal: 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 get a free Veterans Day buffet and beverage to any veteran who has served in the United States military or is a current active duty service member. All Golden Corral locations will be participating. No identification is required to get your free Veterans day meal. (Identification stipulation varies by location.).

     

12. Hooters Free Meal: On Monday, November 11, 2013, Hooters invites all veterans and current servicemen and women to a free meal, up to $10.99 in value with any drink purchase, by presenting a military ID or Veteran ID Card at any Hooters location across the country.

     

13. Einstein Bros Bagels: Free Bagel and Shmear. This Veterans Day from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., all active, inactive and retired military personnel are invited to receive a Free Signature or Classic Bagel and Shmear, or any other topping, and no purchase is necessary.

     

14. McCormick and Schmick’s Free Entree: Enjoy a complimentary entree on Sunday November 10, 2013. All veterans must show official verification in the form of a Veteran ID Card. Veterans Day entrees must be enjoyed at the restaurant. No to-go orders permitted.
