Veterans Day Freebies

Merchants are giving back in record numbers this year.  Estimates seem to indicate that more than 100,000 businesses will be giving veterans and active duty troops free meals, vacations, and an assortment of other services...all free of charge.  See list below.  List is updated frequently.

     


     

Free Haircuts for Veterans at Great Clips 

On Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2013, military members can come in for a free haircut, or pick up a free haircut card to use at a later date. Bring proof of service. Plus, customers who come in for a haircut at any Great Clips salon on Veterans Day, will receive a free haircut card to give to an active/inactive/retired military member of any branch, including the National Guard. Limit one card per customer. The free haircut cards are redeemable by veterans at any U.S. Great Clips from November 11, 2013, through December 31, 2013 with proof of honorable military service. The promotion applies to veterans only. (Note: After Nov. 11, veterans must have a free haircut card). 

 

Eckert’s Country Store and Garden Center and Restaurant, 951 South Greenmount Road in Belleville.

To thank military personnel and their families, they are offering a military discount of 20 percent off all purchases from the Country Store, Garden Center and Restaurant. Military ID is necessary to receive discounts. They're also offering 50 percent off all cooking classes for participants who register anytime between Nov. 12 through Nov. 16. Call 618-233-0513 to register for the cooking classes and mention this offer (then present Military or Veteran ID at time of class).

 

 

CityLink

Will offer free rides to veterans on Monday, November 11, 2013, in honor of Veterans Day. Veterans are asked to present a valid veterans identification card to the bus operator upon boarding the bus.

In addition, CityLink continues to offer half-fares to veterans with a valid identification from the VA Health Care System year round.

     

Free Lunch or Dinner

Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley will show their appreciation for veterans and active servicemen and women Monday by offering them a free lunch or dinner at the Grand Buffet. Military personnel will need to show their military or Veteran ID Card during normal business hours at any Grand Rewards counter. Then they will be awarded a certificate to receive the free buffet (10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. at Grand Casino Mille Lacs and 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Grand Casino Hinckley).

 

 

Free Breakfast

Veterans Day Pancake Breakfast. 8 a.m. to noon November 10, 2013. Serving until sold out, veterans are free with Veteran ID Card and military ID; adults, $6; ages 4-10, $5; 3 and under, free. Chalfont Fire Co. Auxiliary, Station 34, 301 N. Main St. 215-822-3434.
