Veterans Day Freebies

Merchants are giving back in record numbers this year.  Estimates seem to indicate that more than 100,000 businesses will be giving veterans and active duty troops free meals, vacations, and an assortment of other services...all free of charge.  See list below.  List is updated frequently.

     


     

Teachers' Veterans Pot-luck Lunch and Program. 11 a.m. to noon Monday, November 11, 2013, RSVP due Friday, Nov. 8. Social studies department staff hosting local veterans, former or current servicemen and women invited. New Hope-Solebury H.S., District Board Room, 182 W. Bridge St. Reservations: Fred Achenbach 215-862-2028 ext. 3220.  Veteran ID Card or Military ID Card required.

   

Veterans Continental Breakfast. 9 a.m. November 11, 2013. Light breakfast of juice, coffee, bagels, sweet rolls. Encore Experiences at Harleysville, 312 Alumni Ave., Harleysville, PA. Free, open to public, veterans and friends. Register by Nov. 8 at 215-256-6900.  Veteran ID Card or Military ID Card required. 

   

Complimentary Meal. Monday, November 11, 2013. Perkins Restaurants serving breakfast meal special, beverage not included. Restaurant location participation varies, call ahead.  Veteran ID Card or Military ID Card required.

  

Veterans Day Luncheon.  Noon-2 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2013; RSVP by Friday, Nov 8. Hosting community veterans and their families. Bucks County Civil War Museum Library representative presenting program. Central Bucks YMCA, Teen Center, 2500 Lower State Road, Doylestown. RSVP to Rachel Mauer 215-348-8131, ext. 1167.

  

Free Deli Meal

Active, inactive and retired military veterans can get a free meal at any Martin's Deli on Monday. It's the fourth year the grocery chain has offered the free Veterans Day Honor Meal event at all 21 of its locations. That includes the Martin's Super Markets in St. Joseph and Stevensville, Michigan. Cidy Kaplan with Martin's says meals are being offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Veteran ID Card or Military ID Card required.

 

UTAH Freebies

Red Mountain Market, 374 S. 200 East, Leeds, UT is providing a 10 percent discount on most items Monday only to area veterans.  Veteran ID Card or Military ID Card required.

Leeds Market, 261 N. Main St., Washington City, UT is providing a 10 percent discount on most items Monday only to area veterans.  Veteran ID Card or Military ID Card required.

 

Anheuser-Busch Parks

Anheuser-Busch Parks offers Active Duty Service Members free admission for them and up to 3 dependents to any of their parks once a year. Throughout 2013, members of the military and as many as three direct dependents may enter SeaWorld, Busch Gardens or Sesame Place parks with a single-day complimentary admission. The Here’s to the Heroes program is only available to Any active duty, activated or drilling reservist, or National Guardsman. Eligible parks include: Adventure Island, Busch Gardens (Tampa Bay or Williamsburg), SeaWorld (Orlando, San Diego, or San Antonio), Sesame Place, and Water Country USA. Not valid at Discovery Cove and Aquatica. Christmas Town at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Va. is not included as part of this program.
