Question #115

How do I get ED added to my disability?

A1:  You need to show that a service connected disability (such as PTSD, prostate cancer) back condition is the reason for the ED.  (CKP)  8/4/2016

A2:  The simple answers is, "You fill for it."  If you have the medical condition and can prove it is related to military service, you will be compensated.  Use a VA Form 21-526ez to start the process.  I would recommend you find a certified VSO in your area to assist.  (RJ)  8/8/2016

A3:  Go to the Veterans Service at the VA and ask them for aid. DAV and VFW are some of them that are there to give aid to the Veterans and Family Members.  (JK)  8/13/2016

Question #116

I am 90% rated for diseases resulting from exposure to Agent Orange.  I also have severe sleep apnea and have had it for 20 years.  My VSO and private doctor have discouraged me from trying to claim this condition because it is extremely difficult to "connect" it to service.  I also hear there are many vets who have won ratings for sleep apnea.  How does one connect this condition?

A1:   Your claim can be rated as secondary to a service connected disability if expert medical opinion or medical documentation shows that your SC condition is "as least as likely as not the cause of or aggravating your sleep apnea.  (CKP)  8/4/2016

A2:  Sleep Apnea is difficult to prove as a SCD.  You pretty much have to have evidence of the problem while on active duty.  (RJ)  8/8/2016

If you can help please respond to this question.
